Presentation 1: My top 10 things that help when moving to OCI
By Simo Vilmunen, Oracle ACE Pro
Moving to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure can be a challenging task, you have to make architecture decisions which follow (or haunt) you afterwards! In this session I’ll share some of the decisions which have helped me in multiple OCI migrations. Some of them are good to know, while some are critical to have a working solution in your hands. Not everything is as easy as you might hear Oracle telling you, but usually there are tools available for you to use, or resources in OCI that will help you with features they have.
It’s not only just the getting your database and application migrated, but you have to give some thought on IAM, networking, replication, overall architecture design and several other things. I’ve picked top 10 things for this session that will get you going on the right path!
BIO: Simo works at Accenture Enkitec Group as a OCI Practice Lead. He has worked with Oracle technologies over 20 years and current interests within OCI space are with cloud infrastructure, databases and database migrations. In addition, Simo tries to get folks adapt new technologies and solutions when they are moving to OCI.
Fun fact: until recently Simo was behind the weekly OCI newsletter for the OCI community for three years!
Presentation 2: Multicloud & 3rd Party Clouds Approach for Oracle Database
By Oleksiy Razborshchuk – Distinguished Solution Consultant – Oracle
In the current cloud ecosystem, multicloud adoption is gaining a lot of traction as it provides the power of choice to the customer. A multicloud environment is often the right choice for organizations to balance price, performance, and agility in a world with many cloud-based services and solutions. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure supports robust multicloud solutions, enabling simpler management while minimizing integration complications and security risks.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) provides a comprehensive set of services to simplify multicloud deployment, including the network, database, data mesh, integration, security, observability, and management. Among its capabilities, Oracle Database Service for Azure provides organizations with a simple path to a multicloud environment. I will be covering some insights on these services and what should be your approach while considering running Oracle Database on 3rd party clouds.
Bio: Oleksiy Razborshchuk has been part of the Oracle Corporation for the past 27 years.
